Conveyor Belt

Virginia Carolina Belting, Inc is a Fenner Dunlop Advanced Service Distributor (ASD.) We also stock a number of lightweight belts including PVC and rubber rough-top belting. And check out our current stock of quality used belting!

Following are some of the Fenner Dunlop Belts* that we almost ALWAYS have in stock.

*This information comes straight from the Fenner Dunlop website.

bulletPLYLOK®

Plylok® is a premium plied rubber belt and is now part of our flagship product line of Plylok Supreme®. Plylok® is designed for tension ranges from 2 ply 160 PIW to 4 ply 440 PIW and can be used in a variety of applications including coal, phosphate, ore, sand, salt, wood products, and aggregate.

PLYLOK® CARCASS

The Plylok® carcass has been redesigned to distinguish it as a premium rubber belt line in the industrial markets. It has taken on the same characteristics as the Plylok Supreme® carcass. Improvements, such as increased between ply skim gauges and converting the Plylok® carcass to a poly/nylon construction, enabled Fenner Dunlop to include Plylok® in the premium Plylok Supreme® line of belting products. These technological advances will help improve load support, impact, rip, and tear resistance. This transition makes Plylok® a cost effective alternative for decreasing down time and extending the life of the belt, resulting in more material conveyed and savings to the bottom line. Plylok® can be furnished in an all nylon construction.

Fenner Dunlop, with its many years as a textile manufacturer, has the ability to match the carcass design and the carcass materials to the application. The Plylok® carcass, with tension ranges to 440 PIW, is an excellent choice for conveying products with lower tension requirements.

Plylok® is also the belt of choice when service conditions dictate the use of an all nylon carcass, such as a strong alkali atmosphere with a high PH or the use of an all polyester carcass in a strong acidic environment with a low PH. the proper carcass material in many applications will determine total belt life.

PLYLOK® COVERS

Plylok® can be furnished in a variety of covers that are determined by the service conditions.

Fenner Dunlop stocks the following belts, as these specifications are required on a continuous basis:

PL2-220 1/8" x 3/64" GRA2, MOR PL2-220 3/16" x 1/16" GRA2, MOR, OHR, EPDM

PL3-330 3/16" x 1/16" GRA2, MOR PL3-330 1/4" x 1/16" GRA2

PL4-440 1/4" x 1/16" GRA2

- GRA2 is designed for general conveying. - MOR is recommended for wood chips.

bulletPLYLOK SUPREME®

Plylok Supreme® is the flagship of the Georgia Duck line of plied rubber belting. The fabrics include 110 LB/PLY, 125, 150, 200, 250, and 300 LB/PLY. If you need a product that will meet your needs and expectations regardless of the application or environment, Plylok Supreme® will exceed those expectations.

The Plylok Supreme® fabrics utilize both polyester and nylon. With the combination of polyester and nylon, the features and benefits of both textiles can be maximized.

Polyester warp yarns yield lower stretch, better tracking, elimination of down time for re-splicing and belt break-in time. Polyester warp yarns do not absorb as much water as nylon, thereby yielding a belt with higher wet adhesions than that of a corresponding all nylon belt. Wet nylon will lose more of its tensile strength than wet polyester. For these reasons, and to retain more of the original belt’s integrity, Fenner Dunlop's fiber of choice is polyester for warp yarns.

The polyester/nylon carcass offers excellent impact resistance properties. The nylon weft yarns, with its lower modulus and higher stretch characteristics, will accept more impact from sharp objects and impingement from trapped materials without fracturing. This feature makes nylon a logical choice for the crosswise or weft member in the Plylok Supreme® belt fabric.

Fenner Dunlop has gone one step further and converted our 110 pound fabric to a poly/nylon construction.

SAFETY FACTORS

Our minimum safety factor for all Plylok Supreme® fabrics is 10 to 1 per ply. Safety factors of up to 15 to 1, often used in nylon warp constructions to reduce total elongation, are not required in Fenner Dunlop polyester warp belt constructions. With polyester having a high modulus, excess elongation is not a consideration. Excessive elongation will also cause a belt to shrink in width, resulting in a permanent cupping condition.

PLYLOK SUPREME® CARCASS

The Plylok Supreme® carcass offers unsurpassed resistance to abrasion, cutting, gouging and tearing. These properties, along with low stretch, excellent load support and increased fastener holding, will offer longer service life than most other plied belts.

BELT ELONGATION

Plylok Supreme® belts will elongate from 1.6% to 2.0% of total belt length depending on whether the carcass is the 110 LB/PLY fabric, or the 125, 200, 250, or 300 LB/PLY fabrics. These percentages are at full rated tension for the belt, not minimum tensions or average tensions, and this elongation is the total for the life of the belt.

Unlike competitive belts in the market, an initial break-in period where fasteners must be installed to compensate for excessive elongation is not needed with Plylok Supreme®. Fenner Dunlop Plylok Supreme® belts can be installed and vulcanized in one trip.
